I only had it for a few days so far, but It works great with my old Mac laptop and my iPod charger. It feels well made – I could discuss end up buying a second I
between this and the IncipioBud, and I chose this because it’s a bit of wiring, which indicates that some flexibility has. the IncipioBud not. If it is pushed, there’s a little bit better chance that nothing will solve it, than with a completely solid part (as in the IncipioBud). I have nothing against the IncipioBud – the wiring is exactly what gave this product an advantage in my head. The only drawback is that it is a bit more expensive than the IncipioBud, but overall did a good job Carrot idea with this one.

I have with my new 13 “MacBook Air, 256GB, Core i7 for a little over a week and here are my impressions …
First the good stuff …

– The industrial design is absolutely great and rock-solid The laptop is thin, light and fun to look at
– .. The screen is 13 “, but the resolution is comparable to that of most 15″ + laptops suitable for graphic / software. -development. While Macbook Air used (allegedly) had an inferior TN panel compared to the Macbook Pro, I do not see a drastic difference between the two (I also own a 17 “MacBook Pro). The air is slightly smaller viewing angle and may not be as good color rendering, but the differences are subtle. There is also much less glare on Air “glossy” display compared to shiny Macbook Pro
-. Performance is good, in some cases it is the bests quad-core i7 17 “MacBook Pro because of its SSD drive. Startups / shutdowns are super fast and open the Applications / close almost immediately. Having said that, do not expect any serious gaming to do on this little guy, the integrated Intel graphics chip has hard time handling another 5 year old games, and is actually slower than nVidia chip on the previous-generation Air
-.. Expect about 4-5 hours of mixed Use out “7 hours” battery I have, on average, while some Photoshop. working web developer, surf, listen to music and a few video clips.
Now the negatives …

Well, it’s a really negative, but it is something I find extremely annoying. The laptop is very hot when CPU utilization approaches 50% and the fan starts at full-blast at 6,000 RPM +. ‘ br /> I first noticed the excessive noise when my data has been transferred and applications from the Time Machine backup on the first setup. The fan remained all the time, CPU temperature approached 90C, although it used only 30%.
I went on to high heat / fan noise problems experienced during the week. Sometimes it was during routine surfing the Internet, where some of the websites that contain Flash elements. start Windows XP in Parallels immediately would the fan in motion again, sometimes hits 6000 + rpm. playing Civilization IV, a pretty old game going, fans had. full speed all the time with the CPU returns to 90C Apple’s own “Cosmos” screensaver brings the CPU temperature up to 80-85C and the fan up to 4500-5000rpm The most annoying thing -.!. none of these tasks have been taxing the CPU more than 50%
I have a fair bit of research on this topic there are several discussions about Apple, MacRumours and other forums about excessive heat and fan noise. also increased many report heat on their older Apple laptop after upgrading to Lion, so (fingers crossed), maybe it is better a patch on the way, the thermal management is something.
The thought of a return for refund of the air have to cross my mind, but I decided to keep it at the end. I’m not a gamer and do my work (web / mobile development) is not very taxing on the CPU but I do not think it is unreasonable to expect a relatively quiet operation with such a premium on laptop. only 50% CPU usage I can only hope that Apple listens to us and resolve the problem

several months since I bought the air, so I thought I’d write a quick update
There were no software updates from Apple that. the overheating problem would be rectified. Some say in the comments that the thermal problems are limited to meet the MacBook Air Core i7 version, but I’ve been playing with a friend and received the Air i5/120Gb Core 6000 + rpm fan simply by Open two browser tabs with YouTube videos in them. Playback is choppy very quickly too. The fan was heard to be registered on the site with some Flash elements (such as newspaper sites). It seemed a little ( very slightly) less prone to heat problems, but it’s definitely there. I also played around with
a 11 “MacBook Pro Core i5 at the Apple Store and, interestingly, it handled much better than Flash (supposedly) more powerful 13 “… I opened 5! 1080p YouTube videos and still can not hear the fan … quite amazing really. The difference seems to i5/i7 processors in the 13″ air, the higher clock rates, but almost frying the internals of the process can be affected.
If your MacBook Air can go off like a jet engine fan every time you visit YouTube or any site with Flash content, here are a few browser plugins, which I found helpful (they block films, until you get to it especially in):
– Flashblock for Firefox

ClickToFlash for Safari there is a model refresh sometime in the summer, obviously, and I hope that Apple figure out which way this problem can be . solve Of course much depends on Intel chips, that they are going to use in new models.

have the machine for 7 months now owned and have been simplified for your convenience to check
things I like:
+ Light weight, 2.9 pounds (1.3 kg) makes it easy. hold it with one hand – the MBP 13 “is much more difficult when 4.5 pounds
+ solid build quality as the MBP chassis is rock solid, no flex, keyboard, screen enclosure is rigidly connected .. . little flex in the middle
+ Better ergonomics than Mbps,. The palm rest does not edges dig into your wrists as the edges of the MBPs do
+ Same-fluid multi-touch trackpad and the keyboard backlight to return.
+ The screen is a pleasure to use with its high resolution (1440 x 900) and semi-gloss surface. There is no glass ceiling
, so there will be less dramatic reflections in comparison to the screen of the MBP I personally chose
the air over the pro because of reduced glare.
+ 18 seconds boot-ups, shutdowns, and 3 seconds .. Resumes from standby mode within 3 seconds
+ are the two USB 2.0 ports located on opposite sides of the laptop (less clutter than MBP)
+ speakers are surprisingly loud, they can fill a small room.
+ runs extremely cool and it’s so quiet that you wonder if the fan runs at all. I can definitely feel heat
~ 87 degrees F on the bottom side 13 of the MPB after 6 hours of use, such as the MBA 13
where the bottom was relatively cool.
runs + Windows 7 is just as cool and calm. (I installed Windows 7 via flash drive)
+ Performance is almost identical to the MBP 13 “2011 on everyday tasks because of the Core i5 CPU can turbo up to 2.7 GHz and increase the SSD
allows for immediate application launch
+ Gaming:. .. it has the same Intel Graphics HD 3000 as the MBP 13 “2011, I was able to run Starcraft II
smoothly at low settings at native resolution medium settings was also nice but
You get less FPS in large battles. League of Legends ran smoothly at medium settings flat
30 frames per second) on native I do not like:
– * IMPORTANT * Wifi drops – were less likely to result in more updates from Apple
– The Keyboard is flatter and has less. Trips than the MBP keyboard (you will get used to it
